Diving along Crete’s south coast is diving in crystal clear water, with its many shades of blue and visibility of over 30 meters! You will dive along rocky slopes, caverns, walls, reefs and wrecks.

Impressive rock formations offer shelter for crabs, sea urchins, octopuses, moray eels, cuttlefish, lobsters, snails, groupers and many other wonderful life forms.

The Messara Bay offers different diving sites in places like Prasonisi, Agiofarago, Vathi, Komos, Matala and Gavdos.

DAY 1

Transfer from the Port to the hotel for check in.

Welcome drink at the hotel for a short briefing about the program

DAY 2

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Paximadia Islands. The non inhabited islands “Paximadia” are the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo. This site combines different diving possibilities such as wall diving, shallow or deep diving with rich underwater life.

DAY 3

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Vathi beach and Prasonisi island. Vathi is the only fiord in Crete and offers a nice dive with mostly rocky bottom with a lot of marine life. Prasonisi Island is a small rocky island just a few meters off the coast, which can be dived from shore or by boat. Here you will find amphorae and vases, the remains of an ancient wreck.

Visit Knossos Palace (5.5 hrs)

DAY 4

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Kalogerospilios Cave and Agiofarago Cave. The cave of Kalogerospilios has 23m depth and 30m length and depending on the currents you can see thousands of small shrimps. Agiofarago dive site is a geological formation with a 40m large volcanic hole that is fed via a 30m long and 6m wide tunnel with sea water. The tunnel ends up to a small beautiful lake in the mainland.

DAY 5

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Gavdos Island and WW II Airplane Wreck dive sites. The island of Gavdos is the southernmost point of Europe. It offers fantastic beaches and a largely unexplored diving area with crystal clear water. A fighter that was sunk in World War 2 lies in 19-30m of depth and is almost completely intact. The German airplane crashed during the return flight from Africa.

DAY 6

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Matala and Komos dive sites. Both dive sites are accessed by boat and the maximum depth is at 14m. Nice rock formations, plenty of marine life and a big old ship anchor.
